Google maps is changing.
For many website clients, a Google map is essential information for your contact page. Until now it has been free to incorporate an embedded map, but this is changing from 11th June 2018. You must now pay for any clicks on your embedded Google map. Don’t despair though. Google are offering $200 of free monthly usage, which should be enough to cover most of our clients.
However, you will need to create an authorised API and a billing account. After that, your website Google Map module will need to be updated with the new API. Essentially the needs to be re-embedded with the new code.
What if I do nothing? Essentially your Google map will stop working and show a JavaScript error. So it’s important you get this updated. If you’ve got concerns, give us a call and we can sort the whole process for you.
