Building an interactive calendar for Tarporley High School

 

We currently support over 180 school websites and one thing they all have in common is an interactive web calendar. This is an online tool for keeping students, parents and staff abreast of upcoming events, dates and term times.

However, a school calendar needs to be a little different. Many already have Google or Microsoft calendars that they are looking to integrate. Whilst it might be easy to drop these into an iframe, this leaves little flexibility for styling and more often than not the calendar just doesn't look appealing or function responsively. This is why we've developed our own plugin that integrates with any open source calendar. All we need is for the client to output an ICS file from their existing calendar and we'll do the rest. So all they have to do is keep their main school calendar updated and this will automatically feed their web calendar.
